The machined brass housing, string post and bushing provide for smooth, even turning and finish protection. The bushing inserts into the peg head for even distribution of pressure created by friction pegs. This is really a fine fix for tuning problems. Requires drilling a recess for the mounting bushing.... wonderful tuners......
I like the two confined friction areas that does not depend on the tuner rubbing on the headstock of the instrument. Very smooth tuning that stays put! Yes, the older ukuleles had smaller diameter friction tuner shafts, and none of the modern friction tuning pegs will fit them without increasing the diameter of the hole thru the headstock.
