Who is Roy?

Roy is a dear Lord of 86 years that I consider my second father and great prompter who sees into the future: he was the first to launch the Aquila chord strings for ukulele in USA and hence the exponential spread everywhere.

The story? Behold: in December 2001 we sent a parcel with white for lute strings 4 asking him if he could please try them on a ukulele. He, like the saw, was terrified. White ropes Schifose instead of the traditional black. But not cornered... Roy felt if the these strings were sent me to test out...... he would test them.... just as any good Texan would do (Chuch Norris where are you?) and so called his boy and literally told him: ' take this crap of white plasticaccia and mount them on any low-quality Chinese ukulele so then I can answer this I'm Italian moron '.

But when the boy returned Roy found himself with great amazement because in his hands this cheap instrument now sounded like his top line ukulele.

Roy then wrote an email touching the January 1, 2002 (which I keep super-closely) wanting a lot (a lot!) of those ukulele strings .... IM-ME-DIA-TA-ME-NT-E (sic!).

I replied that I had only those that I sent and that I had neither knowledge nor packaging envelopes used about the ukulele strings.

He wrote to me straight back that I had drunk the brain and we thought him. A week later I got a big box with dozens and dozens of bags of different brands of ukulele strings to see and a ticket in which was written between the lines: EL 3ALAM and MOVE YOUR DAMN ASS!

I started to draw the packaging envelope ... that we all know. Roy, on his web site immediately opened a large number of pages dedicated to Nylgut and comments of people happy .... started the revolution for us too: and who was there more behind it?

For many months Roy's site was the only one in the USA and so on Thanksgiving day ... thanked Roy that his web site existed!

Current Plan of Action:..... Arrival in Houston, a car rental Bill, through galveston, through a brief desert area avoiding rattlesnakes and go after him. Waiting for me! The appearance!

What is Roy's gift?.... The first die plate for nylgut strings now consumed is that I used then to realize the first ukulele strings. wait for me Roy!
