The 14" diameter natural finish vellums are for replacing heads on the 8" & 9" pot banjo ukes.

(The "perfect" skins sell for 4 to 5 times more money than the skins that we offer.... and go to the banjo and drum trade.)

There skin heads are from Pakistan and there are some natural imperfections in each of the skins.

This head is a flat round piece of goatskin without hair. Thickness: Thin- approximately 0.01 of an inch. This equates to the approximate thickness of 3-4 sheets of printer paper.

Generally you can select the best area you need when mounting the skin, and cut the imperfections from the unneeded area.We do our best to eliminate skins that have possible defects in them.

Please start by soaking about 5 minutes. If this is not enough time continue to soak the skin, but check often.

Not all defects are visible. About 1 outa 20 skings can have an unseen defect.
